Saltwater Taffy

Saltwater Taffy
  1. Add the sugar to a large pot, sift in the cornstarch and whisk until mixed
  2. Add the butter, corn syrup, salt, water, Real Spices Pure Vanilla Extract, and Real Spices Flavored Extract of choice to the pot
  3. Whisk to combine, then turn the heat to medium and cook until the mixture reaches 250°F
  4. Add food coloring of choice
  5. Pour the candy into greased heatproof dish and cool until you are able to handle it
  6. Stretch the mixture out 12 inches and fold it over itself again and again for 10-15 minutes
  7. When the taffy becomes harder to pull, roll it to a long 1 inch thick log on a greased surface
  8. Cut pieces of taffy into desired size
  9. Wrap in parchment paper and twist ends
